It's called a "natural display" and is a common feature on scientific calculators like the Casio fx 570 991 es plus!. ★ Natural display ★ Natural Input allowing you to enter equations as you'd write them on paper, using fractions, roots, exponents and more. This is all in one calculator, full mathematics function, working offline. This is also not helped with a non-adjustable 10 minute auto power off feature which makes complicated problems that require multiple steps a bit of a liability. If you are premium user of N-CALC, please contact me via email to restore your purchase. The Spreadsheet functionallity is actually pretty neat and I could see it being useful (converting multiple values between different measurement units quickly for example), but unfortunately the biggest weakness which is also shared with the fx-991ES/115ES is that it doesn't save your work once it powers off (or you accidently hit ) with exception to the variable memory, statistics data and matrices (and statistics data and matrices are lost when changing mode). I'm also a big fan of the new variable page which shows all the stored variables with two button presses (Statistics has also been improved by using pages to show different variables, though it still isn't quite as good as the pre-VPAM Casio's or Sharp for regression). The Solver is really nice to use on the fx-991EX, and supports solving variables within integrals or differentials useful for those annoying calculus problems that can't be solved easily algebraically. Physically it feels better built than the fx-115ES Plus, though unfortunately the printing on the textured surface is amongst the worst I've ever seen on a calculator, so it can be difficult to see under certain angles and lighting conditions. The fx-991EX is the best modern Casio I have used in some ways I prefer it over my fx-CG50.

I had both the old fx-991ES and fx-115ES Plus and I didn't like either of them (The relatively poor contrast, slow menus and the buttons have far too much play so end up looking crooked a lot of the time). Absolutely the fx-991EX (at least on my part), and I held of purchasing until late last year for the first time.
